An HR Tech founder’s guide to the 10 best employee engagement software of 2026, based on rigorous testing and research. Updated regularly for accuracy.
Employee engagement software just might be the most ambiguous category in the HR tech landscape. As opposed to a singular function, like performance reviews or goal setting, employee engagement is a concept that encapsulates multiple functions, features, and use cases.
In fact, if you ask ten vendors in this category what employee engagement software is and you'll get three answers. Some sell surveys. Some sell recognition and rewards. Some sell a performance suite with engagement attached. They all compete in the same search results and get compared as though they're interchangeable.
I'm Bora Ünlü, founder and CEO of Teamflect, and to put an end to all the confusion in the market, I asked my Senior Product Manager, Fetican Durakbaşı, to spend around 8 weeks, testing, researching, and evaluating ten of the most prominent engagement software in the market today.
This list is based on his findings. You can click right here to skip ahead to the actual list, or keep reading to further understand the criteria we used to evaluate these tools and decide the best employee engagement platform of 2026.
This wasn't the first time I asked my product manager to test and evaluate HR software. You can find other itirations of this research and testing process below:
We picked eight criteria that separate these platforms in practice, and weighted them by how much they affect whether an engagement program actually works.

Teamflect is anemployee engagement and performance platform that runs entirely inside Microsoft Teams and Outlook. Teamflect’s seamless Microsoft 365 integration makes sure all employee engagement features are in the flow of work. Surveys arrive in the chat window that people already have open, as adaptive cards. Recognition gets posted where colleagues see it.
That design choice is why it scored highest here on integration and ecosystem fit. It's also why it isn't for everyone, as at this time, it requires a Microsoft Account. But Teamflect isn’t just an integration play. It offers advanced engagement features such as eNPS, 360-degree feedback, custom reward catalogs, and extensive analytics and reporting, supported with AI summaries, analysis, and action plan generation.
Key Features
Surveys inside Teams: Pulse and custom surveys delivered in the chat client, with response visibility switchable between anonymous and attributed per survey.
Custom recognition badges with points: Badges tied to company values, assignable point values, leaderboards, and a rewards catalog the organization defines itself.
AI-powered action plans: Survey results can easily be summarized with a built-in AI assistant to be turned into action plans. Those plans can connect to goals and tasks inside Teamflect.
Built-in Intranet: A modern intranet built into Microsoft Teams and Outlook with a company newsfeed as well as an anonymous employee message box (voice of employee)
Power BI engagement reporting: Survey, recognition, and appraisal data combined into custom dashboards
Tester's Notes: "If an organization is in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, then Teamflect by a longshot is the best employee engagement software for them. The app has all the engagement features one would need from an enterprise-grade tool as well as the advanced analytics. However, definitely wouldn't recommend if you are not on MS 365." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.5/5 - 186 reviews
Capterra: 4.7/5 - 143 reviews
Dominant Positive Theme
Ease of use dominates, cited across 79 G2 reviews, followed by goal-setting and Microsoft Teams integration. The adoption argument shows up in the review text itself, with enterprise reviewers describing rollouts of 250 and 800 users where Teams-native delivery removed the usual chase for completions.
Dominant Critical Theme
The glaring negative theme from reviewers when it comes to Teamflect is the fact that it is heavily reliant on the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. While the tool does have a web app, reviewers highlight that the most value for money comes if being used inside Teams or Outlook.
✓ Standout Strengths
The only platform here where engagement runs inside the tool employees already have open all day
Custom automation scenarios for surveys and recognition that truly build an engagement infrastructure
Teamflect Agent, an AI assistant that connects to engagement and performance data, flags negative trends, and can take action inside Teams and Outlook
✕ Honest Limitations
Microsoft 365 is required. Google Workspace and mixed-ecosystem organizations aren't a fit, and there's no standalone web app
No external benchmarking, so you can track your own trend but can't compare it to anything outside your organization
While still capable as an engagement tool, primarily a performance management platform
Pricing
Starter: Free for up to 10 users. Includes reviews, goals and OKRs, surveys, feedback, meetings, recognitions, tasks, and career. No time limit.
Essential: $7 per user per month. Adds usage analytics, data export, an assigned customer success manager, implementation support, and training.
Professional: $11 per user per month. Adds individual development plans, succession planning, employee intranet, internal job board, Voice of Employee, HRIS integration, API access, and Power BI reporting.
Enterprise: Custom. Adds dedicated cloud infrastructure, customer-managed encryption keys, data residency controls, and white-glove implementation.
Reviewers keep returning to cross-team visibility. Seeing colleagues in other departments recognized publicly is the thing they credit with moving morale, more than the rewards themselves. Ease of use scores high enough that most say employees needed no training at all.
Dominant critical theme
Reward economics. Multiple reviewers say redemptions require too many points to feel meaningful and that catalog pricing runs high. Gift card delivery delays and occasional non-functioning cards come up repeatedly, along with platform slowdowns during end-of-quarter recognition peaks and difficulty pulling custom reports or raw data.
✓ Standout Strengths
The only platform here where action plans generate automatically per leader at survey close
Surveys and recognition share one data layer instead of sitting in adjacent modules
44 verified integrations including Microsoft Teams, Entra ID, Workday, ADP, and UKG
✕ Honest Limitations
No published pricing at any tier, and no free trial or sandbox
The review base skews heavily toward employees redeeming rewards, so there's less evidence about the survey side than the ratings imply
Reviewers report two months to implement and 19 months to ROI, the second longest in this evaluation
Pricing
WorkTango does not publish list pricing. Quotes are custom and sales-led across all three plans: Surveys & Insights, Recognition & Rewards, and the Full Employee Experience Platform.
Culture Amp is the closest thing this category has to an academic standard. Fifteen years of people science research sit behind the question libraries, and the benchmark data is the product's actual moat: when your engagement score comes back at 71, Culture Amp can tell you what 71 means against thousands of comparable organizations.
It scored highest on feature depth and analytics, and it's a platform with genuine predictive capability in the form of turnover prediction tied to survey signals. Shoutouts exist, but it's a praise feed, not a recognition program, and against the rewards infrastructure that tools like Motivosity, Teamflect, or Nectar ship, it isn't a comparable capability.
Key Features
Validated benchmarks: Comparison data drawn from 25 million employees across more than 6,000 organizations, segmented by industry and company size.
Key driver analysis with turnover prediction: Identifies which factors move engagement and flags where attrition risk is concentrating.
AI comment summarization: Groups thousands of open-text responses into themes, which reviewers name as the single biggest time-saver in the product.
Focus areas and action planning: Converts results into tracked focus areas with manager-level guidance and an AI Coach layer.
Tester's Notes: "The benchmarking genuinely changes the conversation with an executive team, because you stop arguing about whether a number is good. The only place where Culture Amp loses points for me is the customization front." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.5/5 - 1,609 reviews
Capterra: 4.6/5 - 163 reviews
Dominant positive theme
Reviewers say Culture Amp does something with survey data rather than only collecting it. The AI summarization of open comments into themes gets named repeatedly as a time-saver, and the manager enablement layer draws praise for turning results into next steps rather than leaving HR to interpret everything.
Dominant critical theme
Admin navigation has a learning curve, with reviewers saying features aren't where they expect. Customization is limited and workflows are rigid, and this criticism sharpens at enterprise scale. One long-tenured reviewer described the platform as unable to deliver the workflows and reporting a large business needs, with the only remedies being to wait for roadmap items or compromise the program.
✓ Standout Strengths
Benchmark data no competitor in this evaluation matches
Highest analytics score here, with 120+ out-of-the-box metrics and scenario planning
40+ science-backed survey templates that need no statistical background to interpret
✕ Honest Limitations
Recognition is a praise feed with no points, rewards, or milestone automation
Difficult to customize, and premade survey templates aren't so easy to change
No free trial, no published pricing, and four separately quoted modules
Pricing
Culture Amp does not publish list pricing. Quotes are custom and sales-led, priced per employee across four modules: Engage, Perform, Develop, and People Analytics. Buying more than one module changes the per-employee rate, so the number you're quoted depends heavily on scope.

Sogolytics is a survey company first, and SogoEX is the employee experience platform built on top of that engine. That lineage is exactly why it scored highest some of the highest scores here on survey design.
Sogolytics is quite sophisticated as a survey tool: branching logic, question- and response-level tagging, predictive simulations modeling how a change to one variable would move future results, and delivery across mobile, SMS, kiosk, QR code, and web in a way that actually reaches people who don't have a desk.
Key Features
Experience Navigator: Define a goal and it generates the complete program, including lifecycle surveys, pulse cadence, metrics, and manager playbooks, launched in one click.
Key driver analysis with predictive simulation: Identifies what moves eNPS, ESAT, and EES, then models the effect of changing statistically significant variables.
Multichannel deskless delivery: Kiosk, QR code, SMS, and multilingual distribution for workforces without email addresses.
Tester's Notes: "The experience navigator is genuinely ingenious and is a great way to build action plans. The tool does lose a few points in terms of customization but thats all." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.6/5 - 86 Reviews
Capterra: 4.7/5 720 Reviews
Dominant positive theme
Customer support draws more praise than any feature, with reviewers describing account managers who stay involved through a project rather than handing off. Ease of survey creation is the second theme, with several noting the builder is approachable for people with no research background while still supporting complex logic.
Dominant critical theme
Price relative to alternatives is the most consistent complaint. Reviewers also report confusion around saving reports and reusing prior filters, and several note that features they wanted sat behind an enterprise tier requiring a sales conversation.
✓ Standout Strengths
The most capable survey instrument in this evaluation, with logic and predictive modeling nothing else matches
Five security certifications plus push-only SFTP data transfer for regulated environments
Kiosk, QR, and SMS delivery that genuinely reaches deskless and multilingual workforces
✕ Honest Limitations
Designing custom metrics and advanced reporting dashboards takes significant time to master
Fine-tuning survey visual design, background graphics, and custom typography can feel rigid and difficult to format cleanly
Aside from major enterprise HRIS providers, integrating with mid-market custom tech stacks relies heavily on Zapier connectors
Pricing
SogoEX does not publish list pricing. Quotes are custom and sales-led.
Nectar is an employee recognition platform with surveys and internal communications built around it. It's built around a three-module Culture Suite: Recognize for peer shoutouts and rewards, Engage for surveys and eNPS, and Comms for announcements and newsletters. That third module is the differentiator. Alongside Worktango and Teamflect, Nectar has one of the best internal communications and intranet functions of this list.
It scored well on recognition and feature depth and lost ground on action planning. Nectar will show you engagement results and send announcements about them, but it won't build a manager a plan the way WorkTango or Culture Amp does, but it will provide you with the data to build one, as well as execute the rewards and recognition side of the plan effectively.
Key Features
Three-module Culture Suite: Recognize, Engage, and Comms sold as one platform rather than separate products.
Multi-channel internal comms: Announcements and newsletters delivered across email, Slack, Teams, SMS, and Nectar itself, with segmentation and multi-step journey campaigns.
Incentivized surveys: Points awarded for survey completion, which reviewers credit with materially lifting response rates.
Amazon store integration: Rewards redeemable through Amazon alongside swag and PayPal, with kiosk mode for deskless staff.
Tester's Notes: "If this were a list of rewards and recognition software alone, Nectar could possibly score in the top 3. It has an impeccable employee recognition module. While the listening features are also alright, I felt the analytics could use a bit more work." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.7/5 - 8,588 reviews
Capterra: 4.8/5 - 838 reviews
Dominant positive theme
Morale and culture impact runs almost unanimously positive, with reviewers crediting incentives specifically for driving participation rather than just goodwill. There is significantly strong praise around the peer-to-peer recognition features.
Dominant critical theme
Login and access friction is the standout complaint, with reviewers describing frequent logouts, repeated verification codes, and device issues. Platform and challenge glitches come up regularly.
✓ Standout Strengths
An incredibly flexible reward catalog with Amazon integration
Strong internal comms module with company newsfeed and announcements
Integrates effectively with Slack and Teams to ensure adoption
✕ Honest Limitations
Action planning is minimal, offering results and announcements rather than manager playbooks
Analytics land on the weaker side compared to some of the other tools on the list
Can create notification fatigue if not managed effectively
Pricing
Nectar publishes pricing across three tiers: Plus, Premium, and the full Culture Suite, with a self-serve trial available on the first two. Published figures vary by source, so confirm current pricing directly with the vendor before budgeting.

Bonusly is a peer recognition and rewards platform that has since grown into lightweight check-ins and pulse analytics. Bonusly is one of the easiest platforms here to start using. Recognition posts in Slack or Teams, points accumulate, employees redeem from a global catalog, and none of it requires a rollout plan.
What has changed recently is scope. Bonusly is no longer recognition-only: smart 1:1 agendas, performance recaps, and pulse check analytics with automated manager alerts all sit on the $3 tier now. That moved it up on feature depth and listening.
Key Features
Values-tagged recognition with points: Recognition posted in Slack, Teams, web, or mobile, tied to company values and redeemable across a global catalog including charitable donations.
1:1s and check-ins on the base tier: Smart agendas, unlimited performance recaps, and recurring check-ins included at $3 rather than gated to enterprise.
Automated manager alerts: Pulse check analytics that notify managers when engagement signals shift on their team.
63 verified integrations: Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, Outlook, SharePoint, Viva Engage, Slack, Workday, ADP, and BambooHR among them.
Tester's Notes: "Setup was the fastest of anything I tested, and the free tier is a real product rather than a demo. The friction I hit is the same one reviewers complain about most: hashtags are mandatory on recognition posts, and it slows down the exact behavior the product is trying to encourage.
Tester's Notes: "Setup was the fastest of anything I tested, and the free tier is a real product rather than a demo. Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.7/5 - 7,364 reviews
Capterra: 4.8/5 - 1,610 reviews
Dominant positive theme
Bonusly’s peer-to-peer recognition capabilities and ease of use has been praised extensively across review sites. Its integration and simplicity inside chat apps like Slack is also a strong theme across reviews.
Dominant critical theme
A high volume of complaints on G2 are around point limitations and redemption options. Having a fixed allowance of points and points not rolling over monthly cover most of the negative reviewer sentiment.
✓ Standout Strengths
Free plan for up to eight users plus a no-credit-card trial, one of only two platforms here with both
1:1s, check-ins, and pulse analytics included at $3 per seat rather than gated behind an enterprise tier
63 verified integrations, the second-highest count in this evaluation
✕ Honest Limitations
Pulse checks are signal monitoring, not a survey research instrument, and there's no benchmarking
Mandatory hashtags on recognition posts are the single most consistent reviewer complaint
Reward catalog is thinner outside the US, and larger teams report per-seat cost adding up quickly
Pricing
Free: $0 for up to eight users.
Team: $3 per seat per month. Includes recognition, 1:1s with smart agendas, performance recaps, pulse check analytics, and Slack and Teams integration.

Motivosity is a recognition and rewards platform built around a company social feed. Motiviosity’s rewards capabilities rank highly in this article, due to its Visa card. The ThanksMatters Visa card turns accumulated recognition into money employees can spend anywhere Visa is accepted, rather than points they trade for a gift card from a catalog.
The rest of the platform is a well-built social recognition layer with milestone automation, nomination awards, a branded company store, and lifestyle spending accounts for wellness and learning. Surveys and eNPS exist, and a separate Lead module covers 1:1s and manager scorecards.
Key Features
ThanksMatters Visa card: Recognition converts to spendable balance on a physical and virtual Visa card rather than catalog points.
Dynamic currency controls: Administrators can run recognition programs in dollars or points, with budget controls per manager and per program.
Milestone and gifting automation: Birthdays, service anniversaries, and corporate gifting handled automatically off employee records.
70+ language support: Available on the top tier, alongside a branded company store and lifestyle spending accounts.
Tester's Notes: "The card is a genuinely better answer to rewards than a points catalog, and I don't say that lightly given how many catalogs I clicked through for this evaluation. The only difficulty I can say is on the admin side. I have to agree with average reviewer sentiments when I say that the reporting dashboards were certainly unintuitive and difficult to navigate." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.7/5 - 3,615 reviews
Capterra: 4.8/5 - 1,182 reviews
Dominant positive theme
Most of the average reviewer sentiment around motiviosity comes around its recognition features and how they implement a culture of appreciation in the workplace. The Visa card is also a highpoint.
Dominant critical theme
The dominant critical theme in user reviews certainly lands around the product being not so easy to navigate. While individual users across G2 point out navigation difficulties, reviews highlighted in Software Advice point to difficulties in reporting and analytics.
✓ Standout Strengths
The best rewards experience in this evaluation, and the only Visa-based redemption model
Milestone, anniversary, and gifting automation that runs without administrator involvement
50+ integrations including Teams, Slack, Google Chat, ADP, BambooHR, Dayforce, HiBob, and Deel
✕ Honest Limitations
Reporting and analytics draw consistent criticism for being difficult to work with
No published pricing on any tier and no free trial, so evaluation requires a sales conversation
Reviewers report leaderboards creating competitive dynamics some organizations won't want
Pricing
Motivosity does not publish list pricing. Quotes are custom and sales-led across three tiers: For Celebrating People, For Building Culture, and For Scaling Globally. No free trial is offered.

Workday Peakon Employee Voice is a continuous employee listening platform that blends survey sentiment with Workday HCM data. The platform is built as an always-on system rather than a survey tool you launch periodically: fixed cadence, automatic delivery, sentiment blended with Workday HCM data, and anonymous two-way conversations that let a leader reply to an individual comment and hold an exchange without ever learning who wrote it.
Workday Peakon’s limitations are structural rather than incidental. While its historically rigid model around mandatory driver questions has become more flexible, customization options are still bounded by its benchmark methodology. Ultimately, Peakon remains a platform that makes immense sense when Workday is already your HRIS
Key Features
Automated continuous listening: Fixed-cadence delivery with sentiment blended against Workday HCM data for retention and attrition signals.
Anonymous two-way conversations: Leaders can reply to individual comments and hold a dialogue while the commenter stays unidentified.
Heat-map dashboards with driver segmentation: Results broken down by team and demographic with engagement drivers surfaced automatically.
42 supported languages: The widest language coverage of any platform in this evaluation.
Tester's Notes: "The employee-side experience is the lightest here. I personally enjoyed the heatmaps and appreciated the continuous listening capabilities. I also found that the built-in action planning capabilities are relatively basic and fall on the weaker side of this list." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.6/5 - 117 reviews
Capterra: 4.7/5 - 64 reviews
Dominant positive theme
Reviewers praise the platform's ability to quickly and seamlessly collect employee feedback, often noting that surveys are highly intuitive and can be completed in under five minutes. The straightforward interface makes providing anonymous feedback effortless for staff.
Dominant critical theme
Reviewers frequently note that the initial setup process is complex and comes with a steep learning curve, especially for teams without specialized technical support. Some users experience survey fatigue due to intrusive reminders and repetitive questions. Another key part of the critical sentiment is the emphasis on how basic the action planning features are.
✓ Standout Strengths
The strongest continuous listening architecture in this evaluation
Anonymous two-way dialogue with individual commenters, which no competitor here offers
Native Workday sync is a major plus if it is also your HRIS of choice
✕ Honest Limitations
While strides have been made in customization, the question framework is still rigid
A lack of granular control over notifications causes fatigue
Basic engagement action planning compared to other tools on this list
Pricing
Workday does not publicly disclose official list prices for Peakon Employee Voice, meaning any available figures are estimations derived from third-party data, which place it at $20,000 per year.

Workleap is an employee experience platform whose Officevibe module covers automated pulse surveys and lightweight peer recognition. Automated weekly pulses ship with a pre-written question bank, results arrive in a form that needs no statistical background to read, and managers get something usable without HR interpreting it first. Reviewers consistently describe setup as fast and maintenance as close to nothing.
Key Features
Automated pulse cadence: Recurring surveys with a pre-written question bank that requires no configuration to launch.
Good Vibes peer recognition: Lightweight recognition attached to the same platform, without a points or rewards economy.
AI reporting with suggested actions: AI analysis, summaries, and chat over engagement data with recommended next steps.
37 verified integrations: Teams, Slack, Office 365, Google Workspace, Workday, BambooHR, ADP, and Dayforce, with notifications by email, Slack, SMS, or Teams.
Tester's Notes: "This was a truly intuitive platform to explore. It is certainly well thought-out and has everything you are looking for in a standard employee engagement tool. That being said, the reporting features can use a bit more work and refinement." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.3/5 - 1,090 reviews
Capterra: 4.8/5 - 115 reviews
Dominant positive theme
Ease of use with minimal training, for administrators and employees alike. Reviewers describe setup as fast and low-maintenance, credit anonymity for producing honest responses, and value a pre-written question bank they don't need to be a researcher to interpret.
Dominant critical theme
Reporting depth and question customization. Reviewers want more control over which topics appear, fewer repeated prompts, and more configurable dashboards. Support response times draw repeated complaints tied to limited support hours, with several reports of multi-day resolution on urgent issues.
✓ Standout Strengths
The lowest administrative burden of any platform in this evaluation
Published pricing, which puts it ahead of five vendors here that won't quote a number
37 integrations with notification delivery across email, Slack, SMS, and Teams
✕ Honest Limitations
Reporting depth and question customization are the most consistent reviewer complaints
Recognition is a lightweight praise feature with no points, rewards, or milestone automation
Pricing
Standard: From $4,999 per year, billed annually. Includes automated pulse and custom surveys, Good Vibes recognition, AI reporting and suggested actions, review cycle builder, and benchmarking data.

Peoplebox is a performance platform that sells engagement as an add-on, and it's worth being clear about that before anything else. The base product is OKRs, reviews, calibration, and 1:1s at $8 per employee per month. Engagement surveys cost $2 on top, which means the real entry point for what this article is about is $10 per employee, and $18 if you also want 360 feedback.
The engagement module itself covers surveys with anonymous or identified responses, manager scoring, and driver heatmaps by demographic. It finished last here because engagement is the smallest part of what this product is.
Key Features
Surveys executed inside Slack and Teams: Employees complete surveys in the chat client rather than following a link out to a separate platform.
Driver heatmaps by demographic: Engagement and manager scoring segmented across the organization with downloadable PPT and CSV output.
Cascaded OKRs with automated tracking: Goals connected to project data through Jira and similar tools, with RAG analysis.
9-box calibration: Performance reviews with competencies, weighted rating formulas, and succession-oriented calibration views.
Tester's Notes: "Running a survey entirely inside Slack is the best thing about this product, and it does drive completion. That being said, this falls more under the module category as opposed to full-blown engagement software." —Fetican Durakbaşı · Senior Product Manager · Lead Tester
Aggregated Reviewer Sentiment
G2: 4.5/5 - 365 reviews
Capterra: 4.6/5 - 244 reviews
Dominant positive theme
Smooth interface and ease of use lead at, followed by easy goal creation and tracking and efficiency in goal tracking. Reviewers consistently praise how the product handles OKR cascading and check-in cadence.
Dominant critical theme
A steep learning curve driven by trial and error, cited across reviews, alongside difficulty editing goals and navigating the interface. Goal confusion from complex features, limited customization, and integration issues recur. Capterra reviewers add that admin-side reporting and export need work.
✓ Standout Strengths
Surveys and review cycles execute inside Slack and Teams rather than only notifying there
Published modular pricing, so you can see exactly what each capability costs
Driver heatmaps segmented by demographic with presentation-ready export
✕ Honest Limitations
Engagement is a $2 add-on requiring the $8 base, so the real entry point is $10 per employee per month
Recognition is a light feature rather than a rewards program with points and redemption
Lacks the advanced analytics and benchmarking capabilities of some of the other tools on this list
Pricing
Performance Management: $8 per employee per month, billed annually. Includes OKRs, performance reviews, 1:1s, check-ins, and calibration.
Engagement add-on: $2 per employee per month. Custom and template surveys, anonymous or identified responses, engagement and manager scoring, driver heatmaps, and PPT and CSV export.
Other add-ons: Individual Development Plans at $3, 360 Feedback at $8, Compensation at $5, each per employee per month.
There is no free tier. A free trial is available, and all modules bill annually.
How to Choose: Two Questions That Narrow This List Fast
The reason this category is confusing is that it converges from three directions at once. Recognition vendors added surveys. Survey vendors added recognition. Performance platforms added both. Every tool here now claims to do employee engagement, and they mean different things by it.
Two key questions sort them quickly.
Where does your team already work? This sounds like an implementation detail and it's the strongest predictor of whether an engagement program survives its first year. A survey that arrives where people already are gets answered. One that requires a separate login competes with everything else in their day. If you run on Microsoft 365, Teamflect works inside Teams. If you run on Slack, Bonusly and Nectar are great options.
What are you actually trying to fix? If people don't feel appreciated, you need recognition infrastructure, which means Motivosity, Nectar, or Bonusly. If you don't know what's wrong, you need measurement, which means Culture Amp, Sogolytics, or Peakon. If you need both, the field narrows sharply: WorkTango and Teamflect are the two platforms here that do both properly, and Nectar comes close.
